December 2025 & January 2026 e-portal availability
The BAFSA e-portal will close for enrolments to ABBE Qualifications (L2, L3, and L5) ONLY at 9.00am on Friday 12th December 2025 and will reopen at 9.00am on Monday 12th January 2026.
All other programmes will remain open during these times with existing candidates being able to continue to access their learning programmes.
Please be aware that whilst the BAFSA Learning Team take a well earned break during this time there will be significantly reduced support available. Assessment of video evidence will be undertaken on a limited basis.
There will be NO ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY OR SUPPORT available between Thursday 18th December 2025 and Thursday 8th January 2026

Please Note:
All enquiries regarding use of the e-portal including finance, access for candidates enrolled on learning programmes, video evidence queries, assessment and exam queries MUST be directed through the 'GET IN TOUCH' section of the BAFSA e-portal home page.
Emailing individual Learning Centre Team Members including tutors and assessors is not advisable as these team members are not desk based and your email contact may go unnoticed.

New FHC in High Rise & Full Hydraulic Sprinkler Design course to be developed
BAFSA is developing a new FHC Course in High Rise & Full Hydraulic Sprinkler Design for Non Storage Occupancies which will be available in September 2026.
This new course will relate to the classification of sprinkler systems and the design of pre-calculated commercial fire sprinkler systems in accordance with the LPC Rules inc BS EN 12845.
To deliver the learning outcomes, the course will address the knowledge and skills required to determine the sprinkler design in relation to the classifications, storage configurations, storage heights, system requirements, head spacing, pipework sizing and water supply configurations.
Course delivery: To commence September 2026 with remote learning through online virtual classroom consisting of one day per week over 10 weeks plus post course work.
Course Duration: Total Programme Time is 12 months to allow for submission of post course work.
Entrance criteria: Candidates shall have minimum criteria the following before they can be entered onto the course:
ABBE L5 Diploma in System Classification & Design of Pre-Calculated Commercial Fire Sprinkler Systems Level 5 course in Classification & Pre calculated design
Achieved LPCB Basic and Intermediate Competence review.
Certification: Successful completion of the 10 day course and post course work will lead will lead to a BAFSA Certificate.

Please note the BAFSA FHC Design Competency Refresher course is no longer available.
